Dreams come true for Blair
Not only did the 20 year old Lyons Brook boxer win his gold medal bout against Josh Cameron of Ontario at the National Elite (Senior) Boxing Championships in Cape Breton, which will advance him to an Olympic qualifier in Brazil,chaussure nike air max, but he was also named Boxer of the Year and Rookie Boxer of the Year by Boxing Canada.
"It's amazing. I'm so happy to be recognized for all the hard work I did last year,football boots outlet, it's just really a dream come true on top of everything that's happened this year and what just happened now," Brody said following his fight in Cape Breton. "It's seriously a dream come true."
"We knew (Cameron) was very tough strong, fast,kids football boots, great desire so we had to stick to our skills and wait for him to make a mistake,cheap mercurial vapor," said Nova Scotia coach Wayne Gordon who was in the corner for Blair.
The plan apparently worked with Blair starting a lead in the first round and expanding it in the last two.
"I went in there trying to outbox him because he's a bigger stronger guy but he was very patient and he fought very smart, a lot different than I thought he was going to fight," Cameron said. "Technically he took away my game plan and won. He deserves it."
He said Blair's approach took him by surprise,basket nike tn.
"I tried to outmind him, but he outminded me."
Gordon had nothing but praise to offer the national champ,cintura burberry.
"I'm very impressed with how Brody's maturing as an athlete,air max noir, as a boxer and as a young man," Gordon said. "He's got tremendous discipline and composure for a guy who just turned 20 in the last month. He's boxing far beyond the years he has under his belt now and the future is very bright for him."
It's significant to note that Blair went through the whole tournament with three fights and never lost a round,tn requin pas cher.
"I don't think there's any other competitor here that did that," said Gordon.
Brody said he felt confident going in and was happy to see it all work out.
"I'd like to thank all my supporting fans and my coach and my family and of course dad he puts as much time or more than me,nike tn," said Brody.
His father Robert has helped him train for years and even built a ring for him to train at on their property. They've traveled throughout Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada in recent years to find quality sparring for him.
"It's a tremendous sacrifice his family makes," Gordon said.
Robert said he was just proud to see Brody's hard work paying off.
"He's so easy to train because he wants it," Robert said.
No matter how hard a training program or test Robert puts in front of his son, Brody always responds "What's next," Robert said.
While Brody said he will take a short rest now,longchamp, he'll soon be back in the gym preparing for the qualifier in Brazil in May where he will have to have a top five finish to make it to the Olympic Games in London.
"This is the first step to the Olympics for me this year,adidas football boots," Blair said.
While he isn't about to say definitely whether he believes Blair will make it for sure, Gordon says he believes Blair has as good a shot as most in Canada of making the Olympics. "Brody has all the qualities to make it," he said. "He needs a little bit of luck, but he has everything else."
Been following Brody through the new's this last while and would like to say " GO BRODY" ! When I boxed, way back when ,hogan, we never had his chance's for all this great experence . so enjoy it and make it pay Brody and we will be following you all along the way and hope sometime I am back that way I will be able to see you go !
