From Ultimate Driving Machine to Official Car of the Creative Class
BMW might be willingly giving up its title of the Ultimate Driving Machine. at least in its advertising. BMW execs were shocked to find out that a whopping 75 percent of luxury car buyers aren't considering a BMW,chaussure tn pas cher, despite the brand's dominance in terms of sales. The answer? Push design and financial independence, jordan shoes for women, and have the brass to develop advertising campaigns that draw the creative class, not simply stuffy old business types.
In one ad,air jordan 3, BMW moons the viewer with the 7 series' Bangle butt, featuring the tagline, "Not taking risks is risky." The ad is a direct hit on everyone who has called the BMW's infamous design a tragedy, only to see the likes of Audi and Toyota adopt similar styling motifs. Volvo/Ford,nike tn, Mercedes/DaimlerChrysler, Audi/Volkswagen and Acura/Honda.
The last element of the campaign: ditch traditional media for the non traditional, such as web sites and other hangouts of creative types like independant coffee shops that sell "special" brownies.1. First of all, this article got some things wrong. Since BMW if diferent, it's original, that's why there can be only one (original) "Ultimate Driving Machine"product line.2. BMW is not about "Flash before substance". Their newer cars are better than the older ones in driving dynamics, performance, fuel economy etcetera.4. The "first rate chassis engineering and tastefully restrained styling" won't be tosed away. 4.1 They spend more money on R then most of their competitors combined so the chassis engineering will only get better.4.2 Styling has two stages/waves per cycle. 5.

Report abuse PermalinkI have something to say. I am only 15 years old, but i love every BMW out there, espicially the E46 M3. But, it wasnt right away that i love each car. My love started with the X5 and quickly escalated to the E46 3 series. that was about 7 years ago. Now the E90 3 series. alright. The new E90 Coupe kickass, axcept for the rear. But in time i will come to love it in its own special way too. To be perfecty honest, at first glimpse, i hated, absolutly messed up on the 1 series, E90s (except for the coupes), the E39 5 series, the new 7 series, the Z4,chaussure tn requin, and the new 6 series. But as time went on, i saw the beuty i missed before. For each car, longchamp pliage, i saw something little, like the tail lights, or the grille, longchamps sac, or maybe even the doors, christian louboutin outlet, that i liked. then i looked past the lights and the grille and the doors and slowly accepted the car as a unique BMW that had alot of design thought put into it. last month, i was in the car while my mom was driving and i saw a 750il about a block from my house. i told my mom to turn around so i could get a picture of it on my phone. Now think. Im saying, hogan, from a BMW obsessed 15 year old, to anyone who questions the design of BMWs, it takes time to realize the beauty of BMWs. and after 80 sumthin years, if you dont see the BMW beauty, then mi amigo, you never will

Report abuse PermalinkThere is nothing wrong with pushing design boundries, but why does that have to mean ugly fussy cars that will age about as well as a 1958 Buick? You have only to look at the late Fiat Coupe (designed by the man) to see what will happen to BMW's current design. Flash before substance. So maybe they aren't dumb, but they certainly aren't appealing to their old core client. Not saying it's a bad business model, but it is sad to see the old one based on first rate chassis engineering and tastefully restrained styling, christian louboutin shoes, be tossed away like it has no value.

If you look around in LA to see who is driving them, the 7 is the car in this class for architects or whatever from 35 up. The Mercedes S class (the one just replaced) seemed a very pretty car when new, now looks like a big Kia/Toyota and is driven by rich immigrant grandmothers.2 SNOB APPEAL did eveyone forget this ? sometimes better, exclusive merchandise (like a Prada bag) can show a bit of a snotty attitude, jordan shoes for sale, appealing to the intended customer, but looking a bit ugly to others.3 Knock offs BMW 320s and Toyota Corollas looked just alike 25 years ago. Mercedes and half the asians look alike now. Better to forge new ground than whither with a design them that is over copied.4 Diverse models If BWW needs to add more models, should they be the same, except for size?5 Sales results BMW is outselling Mercedes with fewer body styles. I don't think the list is longer except for the odd car.

I agree, Bangle will be remembered. Just seems to me he'll be remembered for garish designs, that in retrospect were cheesy. But that's just me. No Gbh, it's not just you. All these designs (particularly the z4 and 5 series) seemed like they we're trying too hard to stand out, and as a result came off as garish. These cars will not be remembered in 20 years as evolutionary, they we're far too busy and gaudy looking in my opinion. This opinion is shared by many bmw drivers, who cant wait for this ugly mess to go through its cycle.
