Brighton girl knits hats for cancer patients with the help of her community
A 12 year old girl from Brighton who has watched several of her own friends and family suffer from cancer decided that she needed to do something to temper all the sadness.

When she was living in Indiana a few years ago, Moore had a playmate from across the street who was diagnosed with cancer. Moore's mother, Wendy Moore, said that when they moved to Colorado, Leah was in remission and everything was looking up.

"I don't even know anymore how many rounds of chemo she has gone through at this point," Wendy Moore said. "Leah is pretty much the driving inspiration behind Chrissy knitting for pediatric cancer patients."
The entire project started a few days after Wendy Moore had surgery for a pathology test of endometriosis,hogan, a tissue disorder in the uterus. The test was negative.
"We were out at Michaels (arts and craft store) just kind of walking around so that I could get out of the house," Wendy Moore said. "She came up and said, 'Mommy, can I have some of this yarn, I want to knit hats to donate to the hospital for babies and I want to knit a hat for Leah.' "
At first, Wendy Moore bankrolled the project for her daughter with about $100 worth of colored, patterned yarn. But since word about Moore's good deeds have spread, donations have been pouring in.
On Moore's 12th birthday on Jan. 21,air jordan shoes, she went out to check the mail and there was probably $200 worth of yarn donations waiting for her. The week before that someone sent her a box full of metal knitting needles.
"My house actually looks quite a bit like a yarn shop," Wendy Moore said. "We have donations coming in from all over."
Wanda Maul, owner of Deer Pants Yarn in Brighton, caught wind of Moore's efforts and has offered to give her free, personal lessons on how to use real knitting needles. Moore said she has used her training loom since she was about 5 or 6 years old.
"It's been such a blessing, a really humbling experience," Wendy Moore said. "I never expected to get the response that we've gotten,christian louboutin sale, just from the community wanting to sponsor her alone."
Moore isn't restrictive,chaussure tn requin, she'll fill special orders. She has knitted two adult cancer patient hats for coworkers of her mother already.
"The hospital requested orange and blue hats if possible for the Super Bowl," Wendy Moore said. "She's working to get those done as fast as possible for next week."
