Barnaby's Cafe S Shepherd Dr
Thank you Urbanspoon for helping us find this fantastic eclectic cafe. My husband,christian louboutin shoes, son,jordans shoes, daughter and I went to Baby Barnaby's (which is the breakfast half of Barnaby's). This is a "no frills" kind of place, but very cool. You have to sign in on a clip board on a pole. While we waited (less than 10 minutes) we were able to help ourselves to hot coffee (that was a nice light roast which I love). My son had the breakfast chicken fried steak (yes, he is a growing boy). It was hand battered and very tender {A+}, daughter had the sirloin hashprime steak layered with onions, peppers and potatoes {A+}.
Barnaby's offers good food! The prices are a little bit steep. I often see it categorized as though it is cheap but the prices are $$ in my opinion. The food is fresh and good. The small parking lot and the wait for dinner can be annoying but worth it. The staff was helpful but didn't spend too much time at our table and seemed busy. The front of the house took good care of us while waiting, though. If you're looking for a drink that goes far, I definitely recommend the lemonade! The waffle fries are great. I definietly recommend but beware you might face a wait.
Being a Sunday, we thought it best to arrive mid breakfast (breakfast is served from 8:00am to 11:00am), and we were able to choose out of about 5 open tables. Shortly after, however, all tables were full, and a line was forming outside so get there from 10:00 to 10:15 on Sundays (or be prepared to wait).
The wait staff was quite friendly, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming.
The breakfast menu was short and to the point (12 entrees and 8 sides), doing away all the extra fluff, bells, and whistles some restaurants over do their menus with.
I already knew what I wanted to try: the Green Eggs (two eggs scrambled with spinach, artichoke hearts, and jack cheese). This dish also came with chicken apple sausage, potatoes, and wheat bread. I absolutely LOVED the eggs! I would recommend this dish to anyone that enjoys spinach and artichokes. I didn't dislike the flavor, I just didn't really enjoy it that much. Next time, I'll substitute for something else, I think. That said, the overall dish was wonderful,boutique Louboutin, and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again.
My wife opted for the Breakfast Burrito (scrambled eggs, black beans,sac longchamps pas cher, jack cheese, wrapped in a wheat tortilla). This dish came with potatoes and salsa. She loved the burrito,escarpins Louboutin, and what I tasted, I also enjoyed though I'm not a fan of beans in my food. Like me, she would also order this dish again,longchamp pas cher 2014, so it got two thumbs up from her.
Coffee ah, yes. They know we're grown ups and we want our coffee when we want it, so they bring you a carafe so you can refill at will. Hats off for that, Barnaby's! The orange juice was wonderfully fresh, as well.
The staff was quick and attentive, and wasted no time in clearing tables for other patrons. While not what I would call cramped, seating is tight so coming here with a large group could be troublesome.
All in all, our experience at Barnaby's Cafe was great, and we will definitely add it to our list of restaurants to frequent. Next time, though,cheap jordan shoes, we may visit one of the other locations just to check them out.
If you want a decent breakfast in a relaxed, fun, and "cool" environment, don't hesitate to try Barnaby's Cafe.
This cafe was recommended to me by a local. moderate prices, good portions, delicious food. and let me tell you she hit the nail on the head! Parking stinks. but the Houston police were kind with street parking that was in front of a gated apartment complex. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It was busy busy busy when we were there, but a table was available very quickly. There was a good kids menu and the adult menu had everything from salad, to ribs,tn requin, to cold sandwich. Everything was wonderful. At first our waiter seemed a bit snotty, and I wasn't very pleased with his attitude. but he quickly warmed up and became as charming as everything else. We had a wobbly table that he took the time to stop and fix not once, but twice. If you go ask for Johnny H. But, you probably won't be disappointed with whomever serves you. This was a great place to eat! It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. and from what I understand there are like six locations. We ate at the one on Shepherd. Have a great lunch! Very kid friendly!????????
